The Department of Economics at Nalanda College of Arts and Science, Perla, organized an academic program to observe World Population Day 2026.
The program was inaugurated by Ms. Kavya Shree P., Assistant Professor of Economics at Government First Grade College, Vittal, Dakshina Kannada. In her inaugural address, she highlighted the role of human resources and youth empowerment in the nation’s economic growth.
Prof. Kavya Shree, an esteemed alumnus of Nalanda College (B.A. batch of 2009–2012), delivered a comprehensive presentation titled “World Population Day: Challenges, Opportunities, and the Role of Youth in Building a Sustainable India.”
Vice Principal Sri Shankara K. presided over the function and delivered the presidential address.
Sri Varshith (NSS Programme Officer and HOD of Commerce) and Mrs. Shilpa (Staff Secretary) was present on the dais.
The program began with a prayer by the students. Mrs. Anupama T. (HOD of Economics) welcomed the gathering, and Mrs. Ashalatha (Assistant Professor of Economics) mastered the ceremony. Shreejitha, a 3rd-year B.A. Economics student, delivered the vote of thanks.
