DETAILS OF MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY AND OTHER INFORMATION
FOR THE RECRUITEMENT OF TEACHING STAFF
(As per guidelines of Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha Puttur)
Minimum qualification for direct recruitement to the post of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor Qualification for teaching posts will be laid down by the Univesity Grant Commission ( UGC ) and as adopted by the college from time to time.
PROFESSOR :
- An eminent scholar with ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and / or research / policy papers.
- A minmum of 10 years of teaching experience in university / college, and / or experience in research at the university / national level institutions / industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.
- Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses and technology – mediated teaching learning process.
- A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance indicator ( API) based Performance Based Apraisal System ( PBAS), set out in this Regulation in Appendix 3
OR
- An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/ allied / relevant discipline, to be substantantiated by credentials.
PRINCIPAL :
- A Master`s Degree with at least 55% marks ( or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed ) by a recognized University.
- A Ph.D. Degree in concerned / allied / relevant discipline (s) in the institution concerned with evidence of published work and research guidance.
- Associate Professor / Professor with a total experience of fifteen years of teaching / research / administration in Universities, colleges and other institutions of higher education.
- A Minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator ( API ) based Perfomance Based Apraisal System ( PBAS ), as set out in this Regulation in Apendix 3 for direct recruitement of Professors in colleges.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR :
- Good academic record wih a Ph.D Degree in the concerned / allied / relevant disciplines.
- A Master`s Degree with at least 55% marks ( or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed )
- A minimum if 8 years of experience of teaching and / oe research in an 5 academic ? research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution / industry excluding the period of Ph.D researchwith evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as book and / or research / policy papers.
- Contribution to educational innovation, design af new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
- A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator ( API ) Based Performance, Based Apraisal System ( PBAS ) , set out in the UGC Regulation 2010
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR :
- Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% MARKS ( or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed ) at the Master`s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
- Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test ( NET ) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET / SET.
- Candidates who have registered for Ph.D.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES
(As Per Guidelines of VVS Puttur)
- No TA / DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the interview
- A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D.
- A relaxation of the minimum marks at the PG level from 55% to 50% for appointment as lLecturer may be provided to the candidates who have cleared the JRF examination conducted by UGC / CSIR only. Prior to 1989, when the minimum marks required to appear for JRF exam were 50%.
- A relaxation of 5% ( i.e. from 55% to 50% ) of marks at master`s level and 5% relaxation at graduate level under the term of “ Good Academic Record” at par with SC /ST candidates and to the physically and visually handicapped candidates for appointment.
- Application fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
- The college will not responsible for postal delay in delivering the application forms to the candidates.
- (a) Application incomplete in any respect. (b) Without substantial proff of statement / information filled in application form shall not be considerd.
- No deletion / alteration will be permitted in the application form after submission of applications.
- The college shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at any time ( at the time of appointment or during the tenure of the service ) In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidates are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents / background and has suppressed the said information then his services shall be terminated.
- The college reserves the right not to fill up any o the vacancies advertised if the circumstances so warrant. Any consequential vacancies arising at the time of interview may also be filled up from the available candidates. The number of positions is thus open to change.
- In case of any inadvertent in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment letter. The college reserves the right to modify / withdraw / cancel any communication made to the candidates.
- Applicant who are in employment should mute their applications through proper channel.
- Candidates should send self attested copies of certificate and sheets from matriculation onwards in support of ther qualifications. Originals should not be sent along with the application but these must be produced at the time of interview.
- Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the minimum essential qualifications laid down in the advertisement.
- No correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview.
- Canvassing in any form will a disqualification.
- The selection Committee may decide its own method of evaluating the performance of the candidates in interview.
- The college will have the right to relax any of the conditions such as experience, age, etc, in deserving cases of all posts.
- When the selection committee consider it fit to recommend a higher initial pay or advance increments to be offered to a selected candidate, it may do so giving reasons there – for.
- Number of posts advertised may be treated as The College shall have the right to increase / decrease the number and / or nature of posts at the time of selection and make appointment accordingly. Separate application for each posts is required.
- The prescribed qualifications and experience will be minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possessing the same will not entitle him for being called for interview. The College will have the right to restrict the candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed or any other conditions that may deem fit.
- College may call any suitable person (s) to appear in the interview who may not have applied in response to the college`s notification.
- The selection Committee, after considering candidate for the post applied for may, it is of the opinion that he or she will be suitable choice for the next lower post, make such recommendations.
- The chairman Selection Committee shall have the power to lay – down the procedure in respect of any matter not mentioned ABOVE.
- Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview. More stringent criteria may be applied for short – listing the candidates to be called for interview. Applicants having higher qualification and merit will be given
- Applications for teaching positions are welcome throughout the year. This is a rolling advertisement for teaching Candidate who meet the prescribed qualifications need no wait for any formal announcement of recruitment to submit an application. The College will process applications received as per requirement from time to time.
