The Library Committee in association with NSS Unit No. 49 organized National Librarian’s Day on 14/08/2026 at 11:00 AM in the College Auditorium. The event included a Book Exhibition and Special Lecture in memory of Prof. S. R. Ranganathan, Father of Library Science in India.
The programme began with a prayer by students. Mrs. Renuka P.V, Librarian , welcomed the gathering. The event was inaugurated by Sri. Rama K, Librarian, Govt. First Grade College, Bettampady, Puttur .He delivered the inaugural speech and gave a special talk on importance of libraries in academic life. The highlight of the day was a special lecture on Adhyathma Ramayanam by Mrs. Vineesha SV, Asst. Professor in Malayalam, NCAS Perla.
As part of the celebration, awards were distributed to 2025-26 college toppers followed by prize distribution for the Book Review Competition conducted by the library committee.
The Principal Dr. Mohan Kuntar presided over the programme and delivered the presidential address.The Vice principal Sri Shankar K graced the occasion with his presence.
Mrs. Shilpa, Asst. Professor of English, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Miss. Anupama P, Asst. Professor of Management.
The programme witnessed active participation from students and staff .The book exhibition held as part of celebration attracted many students and promoted reading habits.
